Red Wine Sangria

I love drinking wine. I started with red (unlike most people), moved to rosΓ© and now drink mostly white. Given how much I love wine, it’s not surprising that my favourite cocktail is Sangria. Red, white, rosΓ© doesn’t matter. Melon, apple, orange, basil…add whatever works. If it is made well and isn’t too sweet, I will drink it. Lots of it.

So makes sense that I started making Sangria at home πŸ™‚ I first tried my hand at it around six years ago and there has been no looking back since.

Chocolate Ganache Tart

I love tarts! The crunchy base with the delicious filling (sweet or savoury) result in such a glorious texture and flavour party in your mouth. The best tarts are the ones where the flavours all work well together, the base isn’t soggy and in case of dessert, they aren’t too sweet.

Presenting to you this uber easy, delicious chocolate ganache tart! I am so happy with it that I have eaten way more than I should have. Totally worth it!

Peanut Chaat

Peanuts are the best bar food, don’t you think? Every bar/restaurant either gives you some for free with your beer or has some options for nibbles that you can order with your drinks. They are easy to snack on, packed with flavour and balance out all the drinking you’re doing (kinda :)). Salted, fried, spiced – they all taste great! My favourite are the ones that are boiled and then made into a chaat – best texture and flavour combo for peanuts!

Ginger Tea (Adrak Chai)

I grew up in Delhi and am half Bihari half Bengali. If there is one beverage in my DNA, it is Tea! The strong, brewed and with some milk variety.

‘Regular’ chai is a constant in my house and in the house of everyone I have grown up with. No morning starts without a nice cup of tea. For many, tea is also needed through the day, especially in the afternoon.

One of my favourite versions of chai is the one with ginger – Adrak Chai. Strong, aromatic and slightly spicy. Tea for the soul!

Chatpata Paneer

Paneer is one of those things which taste pretty good raw as well – just slice some and eat. It is ,after all, cottage ‘cheese’ πŸ™‚

One of those times of nibbling on paneer, while it was being prepped for a meal, I added a little masala to it to boost the flavour. Was so yum! That made me think that this could be made even better with a little pan time. A little crispiness maybe? The chatpata paneer was thus born πŸ™‚
